Overdrive is of course stopped by Spider-Man and arrested. He's hired a baddie named Overdrive to steal a Lemurian tablet from a museum and bring it back to him. Though he's not doing much in the adventure.

Negative's first actual comic appearance is in 2008 as part of a free comic day comic. This super drug turns out to be way more than anyone bargained for and gives Li his darkforce/lightforce powers (Also part of that experimentation were Cloak and Dagger, which is how they got their light and dark powers).Īfter that, light side Li works on opening food banks and homeless shelters, while dark side Negative works on getting a criminal foothold in Chinatown. He's given to the current don, Silvermane, as a test subject to experiment a new super drug on. He's quickly rounded up by the Maggia gang, who controls the New York criminal underworld. Li's name and heads off to the big apple. Li seems completely clueless, and sometimes he's acutely aware that he has a dark side living with him.įlashback backstory time! This is mostly him being able to brain wash people or bring out their negative sides by touching them. His other personality is Mister Negative, who has the power of the darkforce. On one side is Martin Li, he has the powers of the lightforce, which largely consists of being able to heal people. Negative has two separate identities with their own separate powers. Why? Who knows! It certainly doesn't help him, as we'll see later on. The ship crashes and he takes the name of one of the dead slaves. He was a crew member of the slave ship the Golden Mountain. He then amasses a large fortune (How? Who knows!) and dedicates his life to helping those less fortunate. The ship crashed in a storm and Martin was the only person on the ship to escape and make it to New York.

But is there more to this reverse man in the comics? Spoilers. Mister Negative, you either know a little about him, or you didn't own a PlayStation and never got to play the Spiderman games.
